Greetings.
Many years ago I had to have the facing-beam over the sitting room window replaced.
The builder did this in two sections and, having got to know me, decided to make a decorative feature of the cover leading.
He made it shield-shaped and I painted it with the arms I use in re-enactment.
I've had to repaint it a few times over the years and, recently, I noticed it was very chipped, worn and faded.
I have just repainted it again.
Here is a close up.
The arms are blazoned: Per fess gules and argent a demi-lion defamed and the base of a dragon volant tail enflamed conjoined and counter charged.
Until next time
Adieu
