Drawing human expressions is very hard, so I sometimes set myself challenges.

This is my latest attempt( based on a found image of a young man laughing)

I'm still not entirely happy, but there's only so much you can do to a drawing before old marks still show through and it becomes a bit of a mess.

 

I may attempt the same image again at some point.

Taking Water

As a re-enactor who fights in full harness weighing about 35 kg( and in the spring and summer), I am very aware of the need to stay hydrated.

Here is a new drawing from my sketch book.

My usual harness is Fourteenth century. This knight is wearing full fifteenth century harness with a salet and bevor.

I am calling this picture "Taking Water".
