Here how the painting looked before I started this session.

Here are close-ups of some of the areas I have been working on.

I have been working on the hair and flesh tones of the angels

The blond angel

The dark-haired angel

The redhead angel

I have done more work to the sky. In particular, I have simplified the cloud directly behind the blond angel, as the previous over-detail was distracting the eye

and a bit more to the righthand landscape detail.

Sancturay rework 4

Here is the latest progress on the  reworking of this painting.

Before I started this session the picture looked like this.

I have done more work to the clouds behind the blond angel , added more detail to the right landscape and to the island and started work on the hair of the black-haired angel.

After this session it looks like this

Sanctuary rework 3

I am still reworking my painting Sanctuary ( first painted 'finished' in 2009)

This it how it looked before the session.

I did some more work to the flesh tones  and hair with Burnt Umber, added more shadowing to the scrolls using Lamp Black and added some white glaze to the buildings, lawns and trees on the island.

The painting now looks like this.

Sanctuary rework 2

 Greetings

I have done more work to the painting.

After the first day it looking like this.

I the added some flesh tones, including glazes of Burnt Sienna and worked on the shadowing of the floating scrolls with Paynes Grey.

I also did some work blending in the new clouds behind the blond angel. Thus will need more work, as the yellow is still showing through.

At the end of the second session the painting looks like this.
