Costume progress 6

Greetings

Due to the thickness of the various layers, it was not possible to sew the sleeves on by machine, even after cutting the seam allowance of the piccadils back.

I have now finished sewing the sleeves on by hand.

I have also sewn on the collar. The wool of the body had stretched whilst I was working. I had the ease the collar on into the right place and steam ease the remaining wrinkles from wool at the back of the neck( using a steam iron and an ironing ham).

I them added a line of braid round the base of the collar.

This only leaves the buttons and button holes and then I can start making the breeches...

Until next time

I have now finished adding the ' pullings-out' to the sleeves.

I have lined them and sewn on a button flap at the cuff.

new costume progress 4

Greetings

I've made very good progress with the new doublet.

I've sewn the tabs round the waist ( except for the front base which still need a bit of ferkling), sewn braid to the picadils and sewn them on, sewn braid on the shoulder seams and sewn in the lining round the neck and down the front.

Until next time
