King of Cats

Greetings

I have just completed a new acrylic painting inspired by a found image and by the October Day series of books by Seanan McGuire.

For those who know the series, this A King of Cats, rather than Tybalt specifically....

Squire

Greetings

Here is a painting of a nice young man in jack and hose.

You can see that the jack is thin, unpadded and very fitted and he isn't wearing a shirt under it. It has mail voiders laced to it.

His boots are held up by suspenders attached to his belt.

Until next time

De Sutton badge

Greetings

When I was a member of the Medieval Siege Society ( who do Wars of the Roses), I was part of  a group called the De Suttons.

As they knew I was an artist, I was asked to design a badge , so that we could have T-shirts made.

This is what I came up with.

Unfortunately, the group disintegrated due to internal politics and personal matters, so the design was never used, But I still think it came out quite well.
