Dragonrider

 Greetings

I was looking through one of my portfolios the other day and came across this acrylic painting.

It was inspired by the Anne McCaffrey books about the Dragonriders of Pern.

roofscape

 Greetings

Here is a large acrylic landscape that I painted when I did my Foundation art diploma in the mid 1980's.

This is the view from the old Wimbledon Art School Annex at Palmerston Road, looking towards the theatre and the old Town Hall.

The theatre originally  had a little temple structure on top of its dome with an angel and illuminated globe, but these were taken down during WW2, as German pilots were using them as a landmark.

They had not been replaced until the 1990's , well after  I did the picture.

The picture also shows the Borough flag flying over the Town Hall, as it was still being used by the Council. The Council subsequently moved to an office block in Morden and the old Town Hall was converted to become part of Centre Court Shopping Centre.

It was quite a clear day when I did this picture and, if you look very carefully, you might be able to make out the spire of St Mary's Church up on Wimbledon Hill.

I called the painting "Roofscape."

Here is a new piece of computer art, showing a cute young blond in a red speedo.

I am quite pleased with how this has come out, particularly the water.

Dalliance

 Greetings

Here is an extra post for this week.

This is quite an old acrylic painting. As usual, I made use of found images.

The couple in the background includes the first portrait  I ever did of the man who (much later) became my husband...

I call this painting "Dalliance".

Youth with staff

 Greetings

Happy Twelfth Night.

Tonight I shall be having a final festive meal to mark the end of Christmas.

I have be steadily removing decorations over the last few days and shall put away the last bits (a final doll-scale tree and the wreath from the front door) tonight.

Here is a new drawing of a young man with a quarterstaff.

Until next time

Adieu

Cat's Paw

 Greetings

This is an oil painting I did ( and sold) many years ago.

Unfortunately, this is the best image I have of it, as, in those days I had no scanner, only an indifferent camera and even fewer photographic skills than I have now.

I may, at some point, paint another version.

With best wishes for the New Year

Until next time
