I am still working on my new costume.
I have added more braid and a velvet cuff to the sleeves and have lined the body with drill to stiffen it.
You will note that I am turning the lining under to finish it around the front slashes. This will conceal the stitching for the braid.
I have also sewn extra canvass stiffening to the lower front. These are known as 'belly pieces' and were often made of leather in the Seventeenth Century.
